meliigee asked: YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME =) keep it up!! i check out ur stuff every day its sooooo addictive!!! any whos just wondering were you into photography and then had a interest in filming or did you go straight into filming? just curies cause im studding photography at the moment and you have influenced me to try out filming =) ohh and no joke im thinking to live in Canada next year because you guys make the life there look so amazing and endless fun =) !!!

Thanks for watching! I’m flattered you dig YFC so much. I wasn’t a photographer before I started filming. However I think they come hand in hand. I consider myself an editor over a cinematographer. If you want to get into filmmaking, educate yourself on both equally. Editing will make or break your project every time.

I’m glad you think Canada is amazing! You can really do whatever you want anywhere, anytime(legal or not). Keep watching, we are taking things to the next level this spring. Thanks for asking.

Anonymous asked: Would you be pissed if I cut to Szlafarski?

Why would I? As long as you’ve spoken with him directly and received his permission(don’t expect to be able to use any of the Magician/Tranquil tracks though that’s exclusive)! If you haven’t and we find out… you will be very sorry. Thanks for asking!

productivitydecreaser asked: Hey Miguel, first and foremost keep up the good work. I just caught the AC Slater interview vid and a had a quick technical question for you. I've got some stuff to shoot in an equally dark club later this month and I'm wondering what lens you used (I'm assuming the Canon 1.8) and how far up you had to crank the ISO to get it to that point. Lastly, what did you plug that dynamic mic into? Was that off camera via a Zoom or something or did you go directly into the cam?

Thanks for your time dude and keep on keepin on.

Thanks for watching I really appreciate it! I used a 1.8 and a 20mm 2.8(for the wides) on the AC Slater video.

As far as ISO goes I cranked it up to 1600. Probably lower with the 1.8. I find saturating the footage in post(50 percent) gets rid of most of the noise.

I used a Zoom H4N for the interview with 2 mics(XLR). On the latest DUBSMACK video I had the Zoom’s built-in mics handle it. Not bad at all I hope! Thanks for asking.

Anonymous asked: Most of the time you're filming your friends doing fun stuff. Do you ever feel like you're missing out by participating in those experiences through a lens?

Never! I only spend maybe 10 percent of the time filming when we’re doing rad stuff. To be honest I have a lot more fun filming at a party then editing it the next day than being at the party itself!

Thanks for watching & asking.

Anonymous asked: What is your all time favourite move quote? and on that note, whats your favourite movie?

“I am the Alpha of your Omega. I am the beginning of your end.” - Agent Smith(The Matrix Reloaded)

My favourite movie is The Matrix trilogy. It was one of the last movies I enjoyed from a child-like perspective. I obsessed over every detail of the production and the universe the Wachowski bros. created. It has influenced me on every single thing I’ve ever shot. Thanks for asking.
